My Finch is an… interesting dog. He has some physical quirks that make him an unusual portrait subject. Such as a crooked jaw that lets his tongue hang out and a nerve disorder that causes paralysis so he can only stick his tongue out of one side of his mouth. I decided to take a risk and use a photograph of him doing a side lick to practice a new watercolor technique I’d been wanting to try. The resulting image was this. It was a merit image at IPC. I love it so much that I printed it as a 24×36 fine art print and hung it in my foyer! Prints are available in the shop.
