Grove City Artist Danica Barreau Named 2026 Artist of the Year by Professional Photographers of Ohio
GROVE CITY, Ohio, July 22, 2026 — Danica Barreau of Pouka Art & Photography has been named Artist of the Year by the Professional Photographers of Ohio (PPO) for the seventh time, the association announced at its annual convention on July 18, 2026. Barreau also received first place trophies in the Animal Portrait and AI Fusion categories of PPO's annual image competition.
Barreau has served on the PPO board since 2019, including five years as Secretary before being elected President, a role she has now held for two years. She holds the titles of Master Photographer, Master Artist, Photographic Craftsman, and Certified Professional Photographer, all through Professional Photographers of America, and holds the Master of Animal Imagery designation through Animal Image Makers.
PPO's annual image competition is judged by a panel of PPA-approved jurors and functions as a stepping stone toward national and international competition through PPA's Merit Image Review and International Photographic Competition.
