LOCAL ARTIST EARNS MASTER OF ANIMAL IMAGERY CERTIFICATION

On April 16, 2023, Grove City, OH artist and photography, Danica Barreau, was one of only nine individuals in the world to be awarded the “Master of Animal Imagery” certification by the Animal Image Makers, a subsidiary of the International Society of Animal Photographers. The medallion and certificate were presented by ISAP President Lisa Asp at the annual convention for AIM in Minneapolis, MN. The certification is earned through a combination of exhibition, education, and volunteer merits and recognizes the recipients commitment to ongoing education and elevating the craft of pet and animal photography.

AIM offers three levels of certification: Accredited Professional of Animal Imagery, Master of Animal Imagery, and Grand Master of Animal Imagery. At the moment, there are no Grand Masters. Mrs. Barreau says that is her next goal.

After the ceremony, Mrs. Barreau, and her image competition co-chair Ellen Zangla, presented the annual AIM Image Awards, celebrating some of the best animal photographers worldwide.
